RAVING REVIEW: If you're looking for an old-school ghost story, then THE CREEPING is worth checking out. This horror flick takes on the complexities of family secrets, past traumas, and ultimate betrayal as Anna, played by Riann Steele, returns to her childhood home after years of absence. However, strange happenings begin, and soon it becomes a fight for survival against an evil presence. As Anna uncovers her family's past, she realizes that secrets have haunted her all her life. Her grandmother's fading memories could be the key to solving the mystery.

One thing that sets THE CREEPING apart is the outstanding performances of the cast, with Steele being the cement that holds it all together—amplified by a haunting score that will be instantly noticeable to even someone without a keen ear for music. The setting of an old English cottage is perfect for a ghost story, and the film is an instant love letter/homage to so many classic horror films, either directly or hinted at throughout.

Although THE CREEPING is a solid horror film, there are some moments where I wish the film had remained more of a psychological horror instead of pushing over to the jump scares. As a whole, I appreciate where the film was trying to take us, it may have had a few detours along the way, but it feels like a modern retelling of an 80s horror film.

All in all, THE CREEPING is a film that's worth watching for any horror enthusiast. While there's always room for improvement, the director's passion for filmmaking is evident in the movie's execution, and it's exciting to see what they’ll do next in the genre. So if you're in the mood for a classic haunted-house story, grab some popcorn, turn out the lights, and settle in for a spooky ride with THE CREEPING.
