RAVING REVIEW: Made 40 years apart, these two films strive to accomplish the same goal. They are clip shows about how celebrities got their start when “baring it all.”

There is adult content featured in these films:

These films' general idea is interesting, showing the early roles of “present-day” celebrities. So many start their careers in little-known cinema, often showing more skin than they ever did later in their careers. I would say most all of these examples are tastefully done; this isn’t something that would be too risque.

I think that the commentary on the clips was fascinating. The hosts Sybil Danning (1982) and Diana Prince (2022) gave a lot of insight into the starts of these careers and what went into the early moments on screen.

This is a time capsule into the retro days of cinema created by Full Moon legend Charles Band and helped venture into the more “modern” sequel 40 years later. Both of these could have leaned into just being “raunchy”; instead, they take the high roads and genuinely try to dissect the early days of celebrities on screen through the decades. Don’t get me wrong; there are a lot of innuendo-filled puns, and some scenes are near pushing the limits, but as a whole, I was impressed.

The more familiar I become with Full Moon Features, the more I like them. There’s far more to them than just PUPPET MASTER and EVIL BONG. They make fun films because they know they’re fun, such as ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT CAMGIRL but then also capture part of cinema history with documentaries like this. Proving that they know when to take themselves seriously and when to sit back and enjoy their creations as well.
