RAVING REVIEW: The series is so far visually stunning, poetic, and dramatic to the core. After two episodes, you’re left with a powerful narrative that may struggle slightly while trying to figure out its identity.

Form over function may be a little bit of the worry here, but it’s an absolute treat to watch and listen to. The visuals throughout are stunning, and an incredible color palette offers a unique look at a world that traditionally is pretty muted. We're given an almost poetic take on dialogue along with the constant treat to your visual senses. Often the cast will communicate back and via rap/spoken word, which only helps to enhance the experience.

The series features some of the UK’s top rap artists and is told in such a way that we get to see a look into this world through a window that gives a fascinating take on the daily struggles that so many face. Some will consider this series glorifying this life (as I’ve already seen via some other reviews); to me, that is absurd, and I would guess they saw the series' synopsis but didn’t watch any of it.

While I enjoyed the idea of the series, it sometimes struggles to remain focused, jumping from one style to another, from one story to another. It doesn’t make it less enjoyable but does lose a little bit of the focus and impact of the more intense moments. I wish they had been able to put a little more of the budget towards the effects; a few moments were clearly done on a budget. Trying to stylize a shot but taking away from the moment's strength because it looks like something from a late 90s movie.

As a whole, I’m excited to check out the rest of the series; I think that it had a solid start, and even with the few issues I had, I think it could end up being a treat.
