RAVING REVIEW: Ironically, this is a film that “takes place” in 2022, although it's a very different 2022 than we’re used to seeing around us currently. Fun, over the top, and packed with names you’ll recognize.

From the same director that brought us CASINO ROYALE (2006,) THE MASK OF ZORRO, and GREEN LANTERN comes a post-apocalyptic tale of what many thought our future would look like. This was a gritty and, at times, almost comical experience but was also a fun time that, by taking itself so seriously, made it more enjoyable.

This cast alone was crazy to me! Ray Liotta, Kevin Dillon, Don Henderson, Michael Lerner, Ernie Hudson, and more made for a nonstop “who was that” experience. This was very much a B-movie, but that’s what you go in expecting, so you just sit back and enjoy it. Just make sure to keep your expectations realistic and have fun.

I thought the story within the story was interesting, a case of what happens when those in power take advantage of the system they’re in and have to answer for the crimes they commit. While the film never dives too deep, the pieces are all there to have a subtext that would be interesting in today's world.

The set pieces are primarily jungle settings, allowing for a cheap overhead while also adding that element of the unknown without being too fake.
